Porcelain crossarm insulators are used for insulation and support of conductors in high-voltage overhead power lines with a nominal voltage of 35kV and below, a frequency not exceeding 100Hz, and an altitude not exceeding 1000m in three-phase power systems.

Anti-pollution flashover porcelain crossarm insulators can be used for the upgrading of 35kV distribution lines to cope with pollution flashover accidents in rainy and foggy weather in polluted areas.

The process requirements for installing porcelain crossarm insulators on poles include: when installed vertically, the top inclination along the line should not exceed 10mm; when installed horizontally, the top should preferably be tilted upwards at 5° to 10°, and the top inclination along the line should not exceed 20mm; when installed on corner poles, the porcelain crossarm bracket with the top vertically installed should be installed on the inner corner side of the corner (the porcelain crossarm should be installed on the outer corner side of the bracket); soft pads should be added at the fixing points of all-porcelain crossarm insulators.
